Kenny Reed, 2011 Garrett's PALMS Scholarship Winner

Kenny Reed of Pinedale has been awarded the Garrett’s PALMS scholarship for this year.  Kenny is the son of Dave and Wendy Reed. He has been featured in the Pinedale Roundup for his athletic ability and drive as Male Student Athlete of the Month (April, 2011), and in a story about Pinedale’s senior track team members. He excels in football as a defensive end and linebacker. In track, he placed at State in shotput.

Kenny will have to decide between playing football at Maranatha Baptist Bible College in Wisconsin, or running track at Chadron State College in Nebraska.  Garrett’s PALMS wishes him well in all his future endeavors.

Criteria for the Garrett’s PALMS scholarship require that the recipient possess an extremely good work ethic, show compassion and respect for his or her teammates, coaches, and opposing athletes, and exercise top notch sportsmanship. In addition, the recipient must do all of this with a smile and enjoying every minute!

Kenny is the third Garrett’s PALMS scholarship recipient. Earlier winners were Ashley Transtrum and Jake Brunette.

Thanks to the Pinedale Roundup and Anita Carter for photos and information!
