2013 Garrett’s PALMS Walk June 22!

The 2013 Garrett’s PALMS Suicide Awareness Walk has been scheduled for Saturday, June 22 in Pinedale, Wyoming. Come join us at any point on this day of remembrance and reaching out. We will walk to town, through town, enjoy a picnic, and learn more about suicide awareness, prevention, and survival.

Walkers and runners converged on the ballfields, received signs and banners, and set off on the march down the hill and through town.

As always, many young people came out to show support for suicide prevention and awareness.

Laurie and Jim Latta read the names of our many loved ones from Sublette County who have been lost to suicide.

The Garrett’s PALMS walk is a time to remember and share. It’s a place for honesty and respect.

Without actual butterflies to release, participants imagined holding them and releasing them. The symbolic gesture was even more meaningful than if real insects had been available!

This year, Garrett’s PALMS will be changing things up a little bit by hosting the Garrett’s PALMS Suicide Awareness Walk and Steve’s 10K Fun Run. The Fun Run is in memory of our friend, Steve Mackey.  Here is an easy-to-print PDF (72k) of the schedule that appears below.

10:00.                  Fun Run 10k starts from American Legion Park

9:45                     Reach Half Moon Lake turnout

10:45                   Reach Fremont Lake turnout

11:00-11:30      Fun Run finishes at the Ball fields

11:30                   Reach Ball fields by Medical clinic

Organize Rally through Pinedale

Noon                    Walk through Pinedale
